Swamina by MrsDeGoeysCreations Swamina by MrsDeGoeysCreations
Artwork © MrsDeGoeysCreations

Done in colored pecil, ink and mechanical pencil. I know it seems like there is some symbolism or a deeper meaning to this picture......and well I don't know what it is. It's just how it came out! So it can mean whatever you want it to! I might draw this character again....her name is Swamina and she is a wereanimal, (the swans are a mated pair, yellow (male) and pink (female). This is her in her half human/ half swan form. Thanks for looking!

Wow, love the shading of this one! Beautiful transitions. What kind of paper do you use?

Thanks So much! The scanner takes away so much of it :( I Use a Bristol Smooth Paper (100lb. weight). The brand is Strathmore (I get it at Micheals) It's the best paper I have come across for colored pencils and ink.....at least with my technique. The paper is just so smooth and my colors come out very vibrant and smooth. Some paper can be almost a vanilla color but this paper is very bright white. Hope that helps!

Wow, you did a fantastic job. She looks stunning. She further proves that winged females are nothing short on beautiful. Great work.

You're quite welcome. I know the feeling. I have a fondness for winged females, so that struck a chord. Probably my most notoriously known favorite winged females are the Ninas from the Breath of Fire series (namely Nina 3 and Nina 2, in that order).

Nina is a Wyndian, or Wing Clan. She's related to birds. The oldest generations could become giant birds upon adulthood and carry small armies on their backs (Breath of Fire 1). However, as the games progressed, that power vanished. It was possible to become a "Great Bird" in Breath of Fire 2 (where the black winged Nina is from), but that transformation is permanent (Nina's sister executes this "ritual" to spare Nina from this fate, especially after all the pain Nina has been through already), but eventually that is lost as well. Four of the five Ninas are naturally winged and are princesses of their clan (Nina 5 is neither naturally winged nor a princess).

If you want more info on the series (which is a very good series), check out the Breath of Fire Wikia. It needs work, but it holds a lot of info.
